I have recently heard that Gordon Leonard Mollenhauer has passed away. For those of you who have read my book, you may recall that Gord was the member of my Mascan board who insisted I “come up with the numbers” on a value for Mascan. He was a strong and intelligent individual and was well liked by all who knew him. He was also a ‘giving’ man who served on many boards in both a financial and charitable position. Gord brought his considerable talent to the benefit of many. As well as adding strength to the Mascan board, he was the prime contractor on the hotel built for my account in Vancouver, now in the Marriott chain. It was on time and on budget. A great individual and a loss to the industry.
